Most people do not see obesity as a life-threatening condition, however, it is. afflicting millions of adults in the United States.
31.4% of adults in the United States are obese for several reasons:
•Psychological use of food
•Energy balance
•Heredity - if others in you family of origin are obese, you are at a higher risk.
•Metabolic disorders - how you body converts energy from your food.
•Eating and social habits - kids of foods, time of meals, snacking and lack of exercise may all contribute to obesity.

Imagine an onion with many tightly held layers, protecting the precious little seed in the middle. Imagine what would happen to that seed if it had no layering. As do all of creation, even something as small and simple as an onion seed needs protection to survive.
Now imagine yourself as that precious seed - the weight you carry as the layers meant to protect you from pain. Now imagine yourself suddenly separated from that shield, stripped of your protective armor, armor that has collected itself since most of us were young children. Originally the armor was used as a companion to us and a way to self-soothe that piece inside that we call the “seed,” or the “soul,” or “Me”.
In short, the weight loss surgeries assist us in rapidly losing weight.
It does not assist in understanding the reasons we became 100+ pounds over our healthy weight. It does not assist in keeping the weight off. It does not “fix” your life. It does not in and of itself make your relationships better. It does not prevent you from finding other defenses to keep your inner being protected. It does not find you a new “best friend.”
